This independent study course is available for juniors and seniors who wish to explore a topic or area of interest not covered in an existing class. The student's proposed work must be approved in advance by a faculty member in the department. Students may do research, conduct a study, design a system or produce a research paper for this course. Students are required to submit a proposal to a faculty member; usually, this faculty member is one that the student has worked with before and is comfortable with the subject matter of the study. Specific forms and detailed criteria for submitting the Independent Study are available on the School's web site.
